PRINCIPLES OF FAIR PLAY

A meeting with the Center’s athletes dedicated to compliance with anti-doping rules and the principles of fair sport was held at the Saryarka Velodrome. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is an independent international organization that coordinates the global fight against doping in sport and was established with the support of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

WADA’s core document is the World Anti-Doping Code, aimed at protecting athletes’ fundamental right to participate in doping-free sport and at promoting health, fairness, and equality. WADA implements its activities through regional and national anti-doping organizations. In the Republic of Kazakhstan, these functions are carried out by the Kazakhstan National Anti-Doping Center.

During the meeting, athletes were reminded of their personal responsibility to comply with anti-doping regulations. The procedure for the use of medications and the specifics of obtaining Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) were also explained.

Particular attention was given to the Prohibited List of substances and methods, which WADA publishes as an International Standard and reviews at least once a year. Events of this kind contribute to raising athletes’ awareness and strengthening the principles of clean sport.
